Professor Anthony Finkelstein CBE, Non-Executive Chairman and Chief Scientist

Anthony is Chief Scientific Adviser for National Security to HM Government, having previously held roles as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences and prior to that Head of Computer Science at University College of London (UCL), where he continues to  hold a Chair in Software Systems Engineering.

He is a leading researcher on Software Engineering. Anthony has made significant contributions to research on the management of distributed information. He has published more than 185 papers in this and related areas and held grants in excess of £12m. He holds numerous positions of professional leadership. He is also a well-known industrial consultant and media commentator. In Summer 2016 Anthony received CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List, which was awarded for his services to Computer Science and Engineering.

 Ian Chester, Non-Executive Director

Ian Chester has been a non-executive Director since 2004. Ian has over 30 years experience in financial technology with companies such as BIS Banking Systems; Terence Chapman Associates; Financial Objects and Calypso. Ian is also a Director at salesClarion limited which specialises in assisting fintech companies with all aspects of bringing products and services to market and in this role Ian is actively involved with Message Automation sales and marketing activity.

 Tom Carey, Non-Executive Director

Tom is President, Broadridge Securities Processing Solutions International. He joined the Message Automation board in June 2011.

Tom has been with Broadridge for 19 years having joined a UK software business in 1991 that was then acquired in 1996. Tom has a technology background having graduated with a degree in Artificial Intelligence. In the first 10 years of Tom’s career, he took roles of increasing responsibility within IT culminating in heading SPSI’s development group. In the 2nd half of Tom’s Broadridge career, he has taken roles in business development, strategy, and operational management. Between 2004 and 2007 he served as COO of SPSI. Tom then moved to Ridge to start-up the UK business arm. In July 2009, Tom returned to SPSI as its president with a mission to move the business into a growth business for Broadridge.
